Las propiedades consideradas son las densidades y viscosidades a las temperaturas 298,15 y 313,15 k y el equilibrio liquido-vapor a las presiones de 40,0 y 101,3 kpa.  a partir de los datos experimentales se han calculado las correspondientes funciones de exceso, a saber, volumenes de exceso, viscosidades de exceso y coeficientes de actividad (entalpias libres de exceso). Las dos primeras funciones de exceso se han correlacionado con la ecuacion de redlich-kister mientras que se han empleado las ecuaciones de margules, van laar, wilson, nrtl y uniquac para la correlacion de los coeficientes de actividad.  los valores de las funciones de exceso se han interpretado a la luz de las interacciones moleculares presentes en las mezclas, esto es, ruptura de la asociacion de los butanoles y de las interacciones dipolo-dipolo en los dibromoalcanos por un lado e interaccion especifica br-oh por otro.  desde un punto de vista teorico se han aplicado distintos modelos a los datos experimentales.
