Sin embargo, en los ultimos a\u00f1os se ha puesto de manifiesto la existencia de fases cuasiperiodicas que, a pesar de mantener un orden de largo alcance, no poseen la periodicidad de los cristales. Dentro de este conjunto se hallan inscritos los cuasicristales, cuyo diagrama de difraccion posee una simetria puntual incompatible con la periodicidad traslacional. Estos materiales pueden ser descritos en un espacio de n 3 dimensiones, en el que la estructura es periodica. La configuracion atomica en el espacio fisico es una seccion 3-dimensional de la estructura en n-dimensiones, en esta memoria, en primer lugar, se presenta un modelo para describir a los atomos en el espacio-n-dimensional mediante funciones adaptadas a la simetria del \u00absuperespacio\u00bb. A continuacion se presenta un programa de refinamiento para determinar los parametros que describen la estructura, que son las amplitudes de las funciones antes mencionadas. El programa se ha aplicado en la determinacion estructural de dos fases cuasicristalinas en las aleaciones alculi y alnico. Finalmente se hace un analisis de la simetria de los cuasicristales modulados, que representan un paso mas en la complejidad de las estructuras cuasiperiodicas y que se interpretan como una modulacion
