Este efecto enterogastrico inhibitorio esta mediado por la interaccion de aferentes vagales y esplacnicas del tracto intestinal y requiere la integridad del sistema nervioso extrinseco para su expresion completa.  la inyeccion intracisternal de trh estimula la liberacion gastrica de oxido nitrico y la secrecion acida gastrica.  ambas acciones estan mediadas por la activacion periferica de receptores muscarinicos. La liberacion gastrica de oxido nitrico en respuesta a la inyeccion central de trh es independiente de la estimulacion de la secrecion acida. La activacion vagal central induce la liberacion intestinal de mediadores mastocitarios. Este efecto resulta de la accion directa de la trh en el sistema nervioso central y esta mediado en parte, por activacion periferica de receptores muscarinicos y en parte esta modulada por la inervacion gastrointestinal aferente sensible a la capsaicina y por prostaglandinas.  este efecto se asocia a un aumento de permeabilidad intestinal.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de
