Se ha definido mediante mutagenesis la region de cd3-e que es responsable de la formacion de dimeros tanto con cd3-g como con cd3-d. La secuencia implicada contiene dos cisteinas sitas en una secuencia de 5 aminoacidos que esta presente en, y que participa en la interaccion entre, otras proteinas como son 1ck y cd4-cd8. La secuencia responsable de la formacion de eterodimeros de cd3-e con cd3-g y cd3-d tambien esta implicada en la formacion de homodimeros, lo cual no es de extra\u00f1ar atendiendo al alto grado de conservacion de la secuencia existente entre las subunidades cd3-g, cd3-d y cd3-e en todas las especies estudiadas. Se ha definido, la estructura adoptada por la secuencia citoplasmica de cd3-e en solucion, mediante procedimientos de rmn.  finalmente, se ha establecido que cd3-e puede ser endocitado en ausencia de
