Tambien se han identificado y caracterizado tres nuevas proteinas quinasas, llamadas rap-i, rap-ii y rap-iii capaces de realizar la misma funcion. Se han expresado en e. Coli cada uno de los genes de las proteinas p y se han purificado las proteinas recombinantes. Posteriormente se han realizado estudios cineticos de los enzimas con cada una de las proteinas p por separado, calculandose los parametros cineticos. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto una alta especificidad de rap-i y rap-iii respecto a las proteinas p, mostrando incluso mayor afinidad cuando las proteinas estan unidas al ribosoma. Se ha estudiado tambien la especificidad de las p. Quinasas de levadura respecto a proteinas ribosomicas acidas de otros organismos; e. Coli, t. Cruzi, rata y maiz. Tambien se ha demostrado la conexion del modelo de fosforilacion\/desfosforilacion de las proteinas p respecto a la cascada transduccional dependiente de la proteina quinasa c (pkc) en
