Teresa <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El gen mraw esta localizado dentro del cluster dcw (\u00abcluster\u00bb genico de division y crecimiento) del min 2 del cromosoma de e. Coli, de 939 nucleotidos de longitud, y que codifica para la proteina mraw de 32.5 kda, y un punto isoelectrico de 6.1. Los niveles de expresion del gen mraw desde el cromosoma, son siempre constantes. Sin embargo, existe una sobreexpresion del gen cuando este esta clonado en plasmidos derivados de puc9. Esta sobreexpresion del gen mraw en plasmidos, que tiene lugar unicamente durante las primeras fases de crecimiento, es dependiente de: a) la induccion de promotores del plasmido vector puc9 utilizado para construir estos plasmidos, b) la longitud de los insertos clonados en el plasmido vector; c) el tipo de estirpe que se transforme con los plasmidos; y d) la estabilidad de la proteina en la estirpe que sea transformada. En la region reguladora de mraw, se ha identificado y caracterizado una unica caja sos, pudiendo tratarse de un gen sos.  la proteina mraw presenta una forma citoplasmica y una forma asociada debilmente a la membrana interna. Esta muy conservada en la evolucion, y su funcion se demuestra como esencial para la viabilidad celular.
