Partiendo de la caracterizacion estructural por leed (difraccion de electrones de baja energia) de la superficie pt(111), se ha llevado a cabo un completo estudio de la estructura de un compuesto superficial nuevo, formado por capas de composicion alternada pt\/pt3mn. Ademas del excelente nivel de acuerdo entre los datos experimentales y los calculos teoricos, que permite determinar muchos aspectos de la estructura, el estudio se completa con medidas realizadas por otras tecnicas de analisis de superficie (microscopia de efecto tunel, difraccion de rayos x). Las tecnicas de leed y aes (espectroscopia auger) han permitido, asimismo, enclavar esta esta estructura dentro de un diagrama de fases de superficie. Finalmente, se presenta un calculo teorico de la estructura electronica de este compuesto que conduce a la obtencion de la densidad de estados electronicos y los momentos magneticos de espin por
