Plu1 y sus formas reducidas se integran en un sitio especifico del cromosoma de t. Thermophilus hb27 en multicopias. El replicon minimo de 1.39 kpb codifica una proteina de 43 kda esencial para su replicacion.  pmy1 porta un fragmento de 4.7 kpb de un plasmido natural de 16 kpb de thermus sp. En thermus thermophilus hb27 formo multimeros. El replicon minimo consta de 1.8 kpb y codifica una proteina esencial para su replicacion y cuyo promotor es activo en e. Coli. Se ha purificado una proteina de 35 kda que contiene la mayor parte de la region n-terminal de rep-pmy1. Esta proteina se une a una region de 500 pares de bases interna a su secuencia codificante que contiene una zona rica en at. Mediante anticuerpos se ha demostrado que rep-pmy1 se expresa en thermus dando lugar a una proteina de 46 kda.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
