Se ha demostrado que la regulacion se ejerce a nivel de la estabilidad de los transcritos mitocondriales y de la eficiencia traduccional de los mismos. Ademas, se ha puesto de manifiesto que la activacion de la capacidad traduccional de la mitocondria depende de la activacion previa de la sintesis de proteinas en ribosomas citoplasmaticos y de la desaparicion de una actividad inhibitoria de la traduccion mitocondrial que unicamente se expresa en el higado fetal. Por otro lado, se presentan resultados que sugieren la existencia de mecanismos ligados a la fosforilacion\/ desfosforilacion de proteinas en el control traduccional de la mitocondria de
