El proceso que muestra abarca una serie de pasos previos y premisas basicas sobre los que se construye la tecnica de actualizacion.  asi, es necesario tomar como datos de partida un modelo de elementos finitos con un mallado suficientemente adecuado, de forma que las frecuencias y modos de vibracion de el obtenidos sean aceptablemente correctos.  tambien es necesario llevar a cabo un analisis modal experimental cuidadoso del que se obtengan, sobre todo, unas frecuencias experimentales correctas.  el siguiente paso a llevar a cabo es el de la correlacion entre modos y frecuencias de vibracion de ambos modelos. Este proceso se realiza mediante el calculo del criterio de confianza modal para cada modo.  posteriormente se lleva a cabo un proceso de localizacion de errores en el modelo de elementos finitos.
