En los ultimos a\u00f1os se ha sugerido su implicacion en la patolog\u00eda articular y su relacion con otros mediadores como el tnf.  las proteasas intervienen de manera decisiva en el da\u00f1o tisular del proceso inflamatorio articular.  por estos motivos se planteo la posibilidad de tratamiento de las artritis aguda y cronica con antagonistas del receptor del paf y con un antiproteasa, para valorar sus efectos terapeuticos.  el tratamiento con antagonistas del paf mejoro de manera significativa los parametros inflamatorios y los niveles de algunos mediadores como la il-6, asi como la perdida de proteoglicanos del cartilago, sugiriendo un efecto condroprotector.
