Este modelo se caracteriza por la formaci\u00f3n de pannus inflamatorio, similar al de la enfermedad humana. Para ello se administr\u00f3 la mol\u00e9cula a animales con la enfermedad y se estudiaron las lesiones morfol\u00f3gicas en el tejido sinovial mediante t\u00e9cnicas histol\u00f3gicas. Como tratamiento comparativo se utiliz\u00f3 un inhibidor de la ciclooxigenasa, diclofenaco, cuyo efecto en la artritis cr\u00f3nica es s\u00f3lo sintom\u00e1tico; es decir, no es capaz de modificar la evoluci\u00f3n del da\u00f1o articular. El tenidap fue capaz de revertir la hiperplasia de la \u00edntima y el ac\u00famulo de componentes de la matriz extracelular en los tejidos sinoviales. Estas dos alteraciones son responsables de la evoluci\u00f3n destructiva de la artritis.  para estudiar un posible efecto directo de la mol\u00e9cula sobre la proliferaci\u00f3n y la actividad sint\u00e9tica de las c\u00e9lulas sinoviales, realizamos experimentos en cultivos primarios de sinoviocitos de conejo, donde observamos que el tenidap regula la producci\u00f3n de fibronectina y del factor de crecimiento transformante beta por c\u00e9lulas sinoviales y el crecimiento de estas c\u00e9lulas, favoreciendo su entrada en apoptosis. Se deduce de nuestros datos que el control de la artritis cr\u00f3nica destructiva puede lograrse mediante la modulaci\u00f3n del comportamiento de la c\u00e9lula sinovial con agentes
