Desgraciadamente, si bien los materiales mas interesantes corresponden a mezclas homogeneas, la miscibilidad entre grandes moleculas es un proceso poco favorecido termodinamicamente. La energia libre de mezcla de estos sistemas esta dominada por la contribucion entalpica que normalmente es desfavorable excepto cuando se producen interacciones especificas entre los componentes de la mezcla. En este trabajo se estudian las mezclas binarias de polivinilpiridinas, con capacidad aceptora de enlaces de hidrogeno con copolimeros que contienen unidades alcohol vinilico, grupo donador de protones. Se analizan diversos factores que afectan a las interacciones especificas y por tanto a la miscibilidad del sistema, tales como la influencia de la posicion del atomo de nitrogeno en el anillo piridinico, contenido y distribucion de secuencia de los copolimeros y diluyente del copolimero. Igualmente, se evalua la influencia de estos factores sobre los procesos de separacion de fases que se producen a temperaturas elevadas. Por ultimo, los resultados se analizan en base a dos teorias apropiadas en este caso. Por un lado, el modelo de interaccion binaria permite analizar el \u00abefecto copolimero\u00bb. Por otra parte, el modelo de asociacion explica de una manera sencilla el comportamiento de fases en sistemas en los que las interacciones especificas son responsables de la
