Es el agente excitador de la coclea, a partir del cual se genera el resto de los potenciales evocados auditivos. Hasta la actualidad, para registrarlos habia que utilizar un metodo cruento, insertando un electrodo a traves de la membrana timpanica. En nuestro trabajo describimos el equipo y la tecnica que permiten recoger microfonicos cocleares con electrodos de superficie. Se utiliza como estimulo un tono puro continuo. Despues de realizar comprobaciones tecnicas y biologicas, presentamos los datos del estudio clinico en el que se compara el umbral de presentacion del potencial microfonico coclear en sujetos con audicion normal y con hipoacusia neurosensorial. Se discuten las particularidades de la tecnica empleada y las ventajas que aporta. Las diferencias obtenidas entre los dos grupos estudiados, en todas las frecuencias, en especial 4.000 hz, y el establecimiento del limite de normalidad con unos niveles altos de sensibilidad y especificidad, avalan la posible utilidad clinica de esta prueba incruenta, incluso para el diagnostico precoz de las hipoacusias.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
