Vulgaris y c. Reinhardtii inducen un mecanismo de concentracion de co2 cuando se transfieren a bajo co2. La induccion de este mecanismo se correlaciona con un aumento en la actividad y\/o sintesis de varias isoenzimas internas de ca. En ambas especies, la isoenzima mayoritaria se relocaliza en el pirenoide durante la aclimatacion a bajo-co2. Esta relocalizacion se correlaciona con cambios en la morfolog\u00eda del pirenoide.
