Se ha dividido el proceso en tres etapas: descarga, expansion y difusion del chorro en la atmosfera. En todo el proceso se ha supuesto que existe equilibrio termodinamico entre las fases. Se ha considerado que el chorro se difunde en un viento exterior, que corresponde a la capa superficial de la capa limite atmosferica. La difusion se ha modelado suponiendo flujo localmente homogeneo, es decir, suponiendo que los valores medios turbulentos de temperatura y velocidad son iguales para cada una de las fases. Se ha utilizado una pseudoecuacion de estado que relaciona las propiedades termodinamicas con los valores de la fraccion masica de propano y el modulo de la velocidad del chorro. Se ha usado el modelo de cierre k- y en la ecuacion correspondiente a k se ha introducido un termino que tiene en cuenta la disipacion adicional de energia cinetica turbulenta producida por la presencia de gotas. En dicho termino aparece una constante que se ha determinao comparando los resultados numericos con los experimentos realizados en battelle institute (alemania) y health and safety executive (gran
