Con este fin, se describen nuevos procedimientos conducentes a la obtencion de 3-alquil beta-lactamas, tanto en su forma racemica como en sus formas opticamente activas, a traves de la aproximacion cetena-imina.  paralelamente, se desarrollan nuevas metodolog\u00edas dirigidas a la sintesis de compuestos de interes biologico, utilizando las beta-lactamas como precursores clave. Asi, se describe un nuevo procedimiento para la sintesis asimetrica de 4-amino-3,5-dialquilpirrolidin-2-onas, siendo necesario para ello el desarrollo de nuevas estrategias en la elaboracion de los sustituyentes del anillo de azetidin-2-ona. Asimismo, se describen nuevas rutas para la sintesis de alfa-aminoesteres y dipeptidos no usuales partiendo de beta-lactamas adecuadamente funcionalizadas en las posiciones c3 y c4 del anillo.
