Enterocolitica muestran una capacidad invasiva limitada, y. Pseudotuberculosis muestra una capacidad intermedia y esta es maxima en el caso de y.  pestis, que incluso se multiplica intracelularmente. Dada la importancia de la membrana externa (me) en la ecofisiolog\u00eda de las bacterias gram-negativas, nos planteamos la hipotesis de trabajo de que las diferencias existentes en el grado de virulencia e invasividad de las yersinias se podrian reflejar en las caracteristicas de la me. Para el estudio de esta hipotesis nos hemos propuesto dos objetivos complementarios. Por una parte, estudiar la presencia de una barrera en la me frente a los agentes hidrofobicos, ya que aunque esta barrera esta presente en las enterobacterias mas estudiadas, esta ausente en varios patogenos que colonizan mucosas (haemophilus y neisseria) y, al menos, en un patogeno intracelular (brucella). Y, por otra, estudiar la accion de agentes policationicos sobre la me ya que existe evidencia que relaciona la virulencia de algunos patogenos intestinales o intracelulares con la resistencia a estos agentes. Ademas, se ha estudiado el papel del lipopolisacarido (lps) en los fenomenos anteriores.  los resultados obtenidos demuestran que las mes de y.  pseudotuberculosis y y. Pestis fueron permeables a los agentes hidrofobicos, mientras que las mes de los biogrupos patogenos de y. Enterocolitica solo fueron permeables a estos agentes en condiciones de deficiencia de ca++ en el medio de cultivo. En ningun caso, las mes de las cepas no patogenas fueron permeables a estos agentes. Las medidas de la fluidez de los lipopolisacaridos demostraron que solo los lpss de y.  enterocolitica tenian una transicion gel-cristal liquido.  mientras que los lpss de y.
