Los resultados indican que, asi como la respuesta debida a cck-8s y cck-4 no se modifica por el bloqueo de los receptores serotonergicos, el efecto contractil provocado por estimulacion de los receptores 5-ht3 y, especialmente 5-ht4, incluye un componente sensible a cck. Los neurotransmisores finales de esta via son la acetilcolina y la sustancia p, que tras interaccionar con sus correspondientes receptores musculares contraen la preparacion.  debido a las multiples implicaciones fisiologicas descritas para la cck en la regulacion de la funcion gastrointestinal y en procesos mas directamente dependientes de la actividad nerviosa, tambien se ha valorado la potencialidad farmacologica de casi 90 nuevos compuestos, pseudopeptidos y heterococlicos, pertenecientes a 7 series de distinta composicion quimica, destacando en el conjunto los compuestos de las series c y e.
