Su nacimiento en una familia de judeoconversos y los procesos inquisitoriales contra sus padres, no prueban que recibiera una educacion judaizante; se\u00f1alan una posterior profundizacion en el cristianismo. La reflexion filosofica de vives le conduce de la naturaleza, por medio de la experiencia, al descubrimiento de un orden que le dan su sentido y finalidad. La perfeccion consiste en que cada ser logre el fin para el que fue creado. La accion muestra la esencia de cada ser. Los seres humanos tienen una capacidad para el entendimiento de lo inmaterial y su fin esta en conocer y amar a dios. El esfuerzo por superar la ignorancia debe ir parejo con el de ordenar las pasiones, por la coherencia entre verdad y virtud.
