Tanto la polaridad del disolvente como la capacidad de formar enlaces de hidrogeno intervienen en el desplazamiento de stokes de la glisentida. Ademas se determina que el momento dipolar del farmaco es mayor en el primer singlete excitado que en el estado fundamental.  se han obtenido 4 polimorfos, 2 solvatos con dioxano y tetracloruro de carbono y una fase amorfa de glisentida, que se han caracterizado por xrd, espectroscopia ir, dsc, tga, termomicroscopia y microscopia optica.  las isotermas de solubilidad de la glisentida con alfa, beta y gamma-ciclodextrinas establecen la formacion de complejos de estequiometria 1:2, 1:1 y 1:1 respectivamente. El proceso de complejacion es exotermico y la entropia ligeramente negativa. La ionizacion del farmaco influye considerablemente en la complejacion.
