La principal dificultad de la sintesis se debe a la frecuente aparicion del titanio como oxido fuera de la estructura, que transforma a los catalizadores en no aptos al favorecer la reaccion de descomposicion del h2o2.  se ha seleccionado silice precipitada y tetrabutilortotitanato como fuentes de si y ti, respectivamente, asi como un procedimiento de preparacion del gel, basado en la formacion de peroxocomplejos de titanio. Tambien se han seleccionado las condiciones optimas para la sintesis de ts-2, estudiando las siguientes variables: periodo de envejecimiento, grado de agitacion, composicion del gel, siembra, temperatura y adicion de iones.
