En ella se trata el proceso de retencion de so2 diluido en gases mediantes el lavado con agua de mar utilizando una torre de relleno con con diversas componentes internos. Para ello, se realizo un estudio experimental del comportamiento hidrodinamico interno y de la transferencia de materia, en las mismas situaciones, con el fin de relacionar ambos fenomenos. Este estudio se llevo a cabo mediante un equipo semi-industrial, lo que ha permitido establecer la influencia de la hidrodinamica sobre los procesos de absorcion con gran aproximacion a los sistemas reales. Finalmente, tomando como referencia la bibliografia existente, se ha propuesto nuevos modelos que se ajustan mejor a las condiciones especificas del caso y tambien la posibilidad de aplicar los datos
