Contender fueron tratadas con cromo a distintas concentraciones -0,2 1,0 y 1,5 mm- durante 7 y 15 dias. Las plantas crecieron en cultivo hidroponico en una camara de condiciones controladas. Se estudio el efecto del cromo sobre los niveles de poliaminas ligadas a los acidos nucleicos (dna y rna), determinadas por hptlc tras la liberacion por hidrolisis enzimatica especifica. Se determinaron las poliaminas putrescina, espermidina y espermina y se establecieron las relaciones metabolicas. Los resultados muestran un incremento general de los niveles de poliaminas ligadas a los dos acidos nucleicos. Para el dna es de resaltar el gran incremento en los niveles de putrescina seguido del de la espermidina y espermina, en proporciones variables segun el organo de la planta estudiado. En el caso del rna la espermina y la espermidina presenta los niveles mas altos.
