Nieves Embade Urrutia <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Las prote\u00ednas rho son gtpasas de bajo peso molecular que se encuentran en su estado activo unidas a gtp. Varios miembros de esta familia son capaces de inducir transformaci\u00f3n y c\u00e9lulas sobreexpresando estos genes son tumorig\u00e9nicos cuando se inyectan en ratones desnudos.  existen evidencias de que tambi\u00e9n podr\u00edan estar involucrados en procesos de met\u00e1stasis, pero hasta ahora s\u00f3lo exist\u00edan evidencias in vitro. En este estudio se inyectaron c\u00e9lulas sobreexpresando el gen rho de aplysia californica tanto en la vena de la cola de ratones desnudos (ensayo de met\u00e1stasis experimental) como en la pata posterior (ensayo de met\u00e1stasis espont\u00e1nea). Se pudo comprobar como estas c\u00e9lulas eran capaces de colonizar tanto el pulm\u00f3n como otros \u00f3rganos (ganglios linf\u00e1ticos, tejido adiposo de los hilios pulmonares, etc). Estos datos se reprodujeron utilizando los genes humanos rho a y rac 1 en su versi\u00f3n activada, as\u00ed como los oncogenes db1, vav y ost que son factores de intercambio para los miembros de la familia rho.
