En primer lugar se hace un analisis detallado de la regla composicional de inferencia y se caracterizan desde un punto de vista semantico los operadores que en ella intervienen. Esto permite determinar criterios para su elecci\u00f3n. En segundo lugar dichos criterios son aplicados a la metodolog\u00eda de diagnostico propuesta.  la metodolog\u00eda se basa en razonar en dos niveles de certidumbre segun la fiabilidad de la informaci\u00f3n disponible: el dominio de lo necesario donde las conclusiones obtenidas son necesarias o fiables, y el dominio de lo posible donde las conclusiones no son fiables pero no estan en contradicci\u00f3n con los hechos. Estos dos niveles son complementarios, recurriendose al segundo cuando el primero solo permite inferir conclusiones triviales. Esta metodolog\u00eda se aplica a un caso ejemplo de diagnostico de transformadores de potencia donde se detallan los pasos a seguir para la elecci\u00f3n de los operadores que intervienen en el modelado del conocimiento, y donde se ilustra la aplicaci\u00f3n de la inferencia borrosa basada en dos indices de similitud, que permite simplificar la regla composicional de inferencia, pero
