Tambi\u00e9n caracterizar la morfometr\u00eda, ciclo celular, ploidia y capacidad proliferativa de los adenomas hipofisarios humanos y de las hiperplasias hipofisarias inducidas en ratas. Todas las determinaciones se realizaron mediante citometr\u00eda de flujo. La somatostatina, el octreotida y la melatonina ejercen un efecto antiproliferativo sobre las celulas gh3. La melatonina, a dosis farmacol\u00f3gicas modula los mecanismos antiproliferativos de las c\u00e9lulas gh3. No se encontr\u00f3 correlaci\u00f3n entre par\u00e1metros cl\u00ednicos y pronostico postoperatorio con la ploidia celular y capacidad proliferativa de los adenomas hipofisarios. Los estudios simult\u00e1neos con las hiperplasias de rata demuestran que la ploidia y la capacidad proliferativa permiten diferenciar entre un tejido hipofisario normal de uno patol\u00f3gico todo y
