Este trabajo describe la construcci\u00f3n de una biblioteca gen\u00f3mica del t. Pallidum (nichols) y su uso en la identificaci\u00f3n de nuevos componentes proteicos de este pat\u00f3geno. Varios genes del t. Pallidum han sido identificados.  entre ellos: 1) un gen que codifica para una proteina ac\u00eddica que presenta una serie de repeticiones de amino\u00e1cidos, 2) un gen que codifica para una posible alanina racemasa, 3) un gen hom\u00f3logo a la familia nifs, 4) un gen hom\u00f3logo a precursores octaprenil difosfato sintasa, y 5) un gen que codifica para una dna polimerasa i.  la dna polimerasa i de t. Pallidum identificada aqu\u00ed presenta dos caracter\u00edsticas diferenciales con respecto a las otras dna polimerasa i bacterianas conocidas. Estas son: dos secuencias adicionales de 30 amino\u00e1cidos y un alto contenido en cisteinas, un 2,4% del total de amino\u00e1cidos.  adem\u00e1s, tambi\u00e9n se describe el desarrollo de un nuevo
