No obstante, fue necesario bloquear los receptores h1 para desenmascarar un efecto relajante que estaba mediado por los receptores h2. La posible influencia del endotelio, no o prostanoides fue exclu\u00edda en ambas respuestas.  en la arteria dorsal peneana de caballo, la histamina induce una respuesta bif\u00e1sica: una fase relajaci\u00f3n seguida por un componente contr\u00e1ctil, sendos efectos implican la estimulaci\u00f3n de los receptores h1. Sin embargo, s\u00f3lo el efecto relajante parece ser dependiente del endotelio, donde el no tiene un papel parcial sin que los derivados de la ciclo-oxigenasa ni el factor hiperpolarizante sean responsables de esta regulaci\u00f3n endotelial.  en la arteria dorsal peneana de humano, tanto los receptores h1 como los h2 participan en la vasodilataci\u00f3n producida por histamina. La falta de inhibici\u00f3n de la respuesta provocada por la eliminaci\u00f3n del endotelio sugiere que tanto los receptores h1 como h2 se localizan en la musculatura lisa de las arterias dorsales.  igualmente, la ausencia de efecto del bloqueo de la no sintasa y los prostanoides indica que estos mecanismos no se encuentran implicados en la respuesta de la
