Teresa Luque Garrofe <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La alcohol deshidrogenasa de drosophila, de cadena corta, ha sido ampliamente estudiada, mientras que las alcohol deshidrogenas de cadena mediana no hab\u00edan sido nunca estudiadas en este g\u00e9nero. En este trabajo se describen retrosecuencias adh en d. Madeirensis y d. Guanche, las cuales junto con las retrosecuencias adh previamente descritas en d. Subobscura, tienen un origen com\u00fan y distinto al de las retrosecuencias adh descritas en d.  teissieri y d. Yakuba. Por tanto, este tipo de secuencia no es tan infrecuente en invertebrados como inicialmente se cre\u00eda.  se ha caracterizado por primera vez en drosophila un gen que codifica para una alcohol deshidrogenasa de cadena mediana. Se trata del gen gfd\/odh o adh de clase iii, y presenta una expresi\u00f3n constitutiva a lo largo del desarrollo. La adh de clase iii es la m\u00e1s ancestral de todas las alcohol deshidrogenasas presentes en vertebrados.  finalmente se ha descrito por primera vez una duplicaci\u00f3n del gen sfh que di\u00f3 lugar a dos genes con la misma funci\u00f3n. Ambos genes sdh se expresan en el estadio de larva y adulto principalmente.
