Pr\u00e9viamente a la obtenci\u00f3n de los pol\u00edmeros, se han sintetizado los correspondientes mes\u00f3genos para estudiar la influencia de la naturaleza y longitud del n\u00facleo mesog\u00e9nico en la formaci\u00f3n de mesofases. Se ha llevado a cabo un estudio sistem\u00e1tico para ambos tipos de pol\u00edmeros, variando la longitud de las cadenas laterales y la longitud del espaciador utilizado en la uni\u00f3n del mes\u00f3geno a la cadena principal, dada una longitud del n\u00facleo mesog\u00e9nico determinada. Como caracter\u00edstica principal, los pol\u00edmeros \u00abend-on\u00bb forman mesofases con mayor facilidad que los pol\u00edmeros \u00abside-on\u00bb, obteni\u00e9ndose \u00fanicamente fases nem\u00e1ticas estables o metaestables para algunos pol\u00edmeros \u00abside-on\u00bb.  se han sintetizado diversos crom\u00f3foros derivados del carbazol y grupos aceptores convencionales, para el estudio de sus propiedades \u00f3pticas no lineales obteni\u00e9ndose respuestas no lineales elevadas. Asimismo, se ha sintetizado un nuevo aceptor derivado de la creatinina, que permite la aromatizaci\u00f3n del heterociclo en el proceso de transferencia de carga electr\u00f3nica intramolecular,
