Cerevisiae, la ausencia del transportador de alta afinidad para el potasio, codificado por el gen trk1, da lugar a una levadura incapaz de crecer a concentraciones micromolares de k y a la aparici\u00f3n de un componente de baja afinidad para este cati\u00f3n, no observado en las c\u00e9lulas de tipo salvaje.  la naturaleza de este componente cin\u00e9tico es discutida en esta memoria. Mediante la aplicaci\u00f3n de t\u00e9cnicas de citometr\u00eda de flujo, se ha logrado estimar diferencias en los potenciales de membrana en los diferentes mutantes trk-, demostr\u00e1ndose que elevados potenciales de membrana dirigen y median la entrada de baja afinidad del k, implicando a los transportadores trk1 y trk2 en el control del potencial el\u00e9ctrico de la membrana de esta especie.  la expresi\u00f3n heter\u00f3loga de los transportadores de k hak1, de schwanniomyces occidentalis, y hkt1 de trigo, complementan la deficiencia de k de las c\u00e9culas trk1trk2 pero s\u00f3lo hkt1 suprime las diferencias en el potencial de membrana. Es por lo tanto, posible, que un nuevo miembro de la familia trk estuviera presente en s. Occidentalis, cumpliendo el papel regulador del potencial de membrana que hak1 no es capaz de completar en s.
