Dichas macrolactamas se han podido transformar en alcaloides isoindolobenzazep\u00ednicos (azabiciclo \u00ed\u00b57,5\u00ed\u00a5 ) o tetrahidroprotoberber\u00ednicos (azabiciclo \u00ed\u00b56,6\u00ed\u00a5) por medio de ciclaciones transanulares regioselectivas dependiendo de las condiciones de reacci\u00f3n. Siguiendo esta metodolog\u00eda se sintetiz\u00f3 el alcaloide lennoxamina y dos catecolaminas tetrahidroprotoberber\u00ednicas sustituidas en los anillos a y d, respectivamente, sobre las cuales se llev\u00f3 a cabo un estudio de sus propiedades dopamin\u00e9rgicas.  las reacciones de macrociclaci\u00f3n radicalaria fueron tambi\u00e9n procesos muy \u00fatiles para la preparaci\u00f3n de macrolactamas de 11 miembros, las cuales, resultaron ser buenos intermedios en la s\u00edntesis de homoprotoberberinas.  dependiendo de la geometr\u00eda de la macrolactama se sintetizaron distintos esqueletos azabic\u00edclicos  \u00ed\u00b57,6\u00ed\u00a5 o \u00ed\u00b56,7\u00ed\u00a5 por medio de reacciones de ciclaci\u00f3n transanular.  la metodolog\u00eda desarrollada para la s\u00edntesis de macrolactamas de 10 y 11 miembros no result\u00f3 ser \u00fatil para el caso de lactamas de 8 y 9 miembros.  adem\u00e1s de los estudios de macrociclaci\u00f3n radicalaria de compuestos nitrogenados, se llev\u00f3 a cabo la s\u00edntesis de sistemas carboc\u00edclicos de 10 miembros con sustituci\u00f3n diendiino, estructuras an\u00e1logas de los antibi\u00f3ticos enodi\u00ednicos. Por \u00faltimo, se demostr\u00f3 la capacidad de estos compuestos para cicloaromatizar dando lugar a especies birradicalarias naftac\u00e9nicas con posible capacidad de ruptura del
