El primer volumen consta de introduccion y tres capitulos delimitados cronologicamente por los reinados de los reyes catolicos, carlos v y felipe ii, respectivamente. El capitulo i (\u00abel reinado de los reyes catolicos: la provisionalidad de la capilla de musica 1487-1516\u00bb) describe los aspectos politicos, institucionales, sociales y culturales de malaga, asi como la organizacion de la capilla de musica.  entre los musicos que trabajaron en malaga en esa epoca se encuentran miembros de las capillas reales y especialmente juan del encina (1509-1519).  el capitulo ii (\u00abel reinado del emperador carlos v (1516-1556): el desarrollo de la capilla de musica\u00bb) estudia, ademas de los aspectos sociales y culturales de la ciudad durante ese periodo, los maestros de capilla, sochantres, cantores, maestros de mozos de coro y organistas. Cabe destacar la presencia de cristobal de morales (1551-1553).  el capitulo iii (\u00abel reinado de felipe ii (1556-1598): la consolidacion de la capilla de musica\u00bb) estudia los seises y ministriles ademas de los cantores adultos y organistas de ese periodo.  el segundo volumen consta de tres capitulos, cuyos titulos son suficientemente explicitos. Capitulo iv (\u00abmusica, liturgia y ceremonias\u00bb); capitulo v (\u00abla dotacion economica de la catedral\u00bb); capitulo vi (\u00abmusica de los siglos xv y xvi conservada en la catedral de
