La etapa clave de la sintesis es la adicion de diazometano sobre (z)- 3-alquiliden-4-tert- butoxicarbonildicetopiperacinas quirales, que transcurre con elevados excesos diastereoisomericos. Tras fotolisis de las pirazolinas resultantes e hidrolisis acida, se obtienen los correspondientes ciclopropilamino- acidos con sustituyentes alifaticos, compuestos con gran interes desde un punto de vista biologico.  se ha llevado a cabo la primera sintesis enantioselectiva de dos diaste reoisomeros de 2-(2-carboximetilciclopropil) glicina, aminoacido aislado de blighia unijugata, a partir de l- y d-serina. Se propone una configuracion absoluta (2s, 1s, 2r) para el producto natural, basandonos en estudios de resonancia magnetica nuclear de proton y calculos de mecanica molecular de un intermedio
