El primer tipo se caracteriza por la existencia de una respuesta excitatoria seguida de una inhibici\u00f3n, el segundo tipo por una excitaci\u00f3n sola y el tercero por una inhibici\u00f3n sin excitaci\u00f3n previa. A modo de control se analizaron tambi\u00e9n las respuestas evocadas en la corteza visual primaria contralateral y en el \u00e1rea 18 ipsilateral al n\u00facleo geniculado lateral estimulado.  en la corteza visual primaria contralateral no se encontraron respuestas de corta latencia y la mayor\u00eda de las neuronas no respondieron a la estimulaci\u00f3n. En el \u00e1rea 18 se hallaron respuestas semejantes a las obtenidas en la corteza visual primaria, aunque en distintas proporciones y con una proporci\u00f3n importante de c\u00e9lulas sin respuesta.  estos resultados muestran la existencia de diferencias funcionales importantes entre la v\u00eda geniculocortical de la rata y otros mam\u00edferos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de
