La t\u00e9cnica fundamentalmente utilizada ha sido la resonancia magnetica nuclear. El estudio ha permitido identificar factores de gran influencia en la formaci\u00f3n y estabilidad de la estructura secundaria beta de prote\u00ednas.  en concreto, en esta investigaci\u00f3n se ha hecho hincapi\u00e9 en el an\u00e1lisis y dise\u00f1o de horquillas y l\u00e1minas beta. Con respecto de las primeras, se ha estudiado la importancia relativa de la conformaci\u00f3n del giro, de las interacciones interhebra y de las propensiones intrinsecas de los amino\u00e1cidos. La informaci\u00f3n obtenida se ha utilizado para dise\u00f1ar p\u00e9ptidos que fueran capaces de adoptar l\u00e1minas beta. A su vez, \u00e9stos pueden ser utilizados como modelos para extraer informaci\u00f3n sobre los factores involucrados en la estabilidad de las l\u00e1minas beta.
