Rosario Baquero Artigao <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Esta memoria, describe la caracterizaci\u00f3n y funciones de los genes dacd y sbmc, situados en el minuto 44 del mapa gen\u00e9tico de escherichia coli. Dacd codifica una prote\u00edna fijadora de penicilina (pbp) de 43.346 da, con actividad dd-carboxipeptidasa, a la que se ha denominado pbp6b.  esta prote\u00edna es la cuarta pbp de e. Coli con esta actividad. Sbmc codifica una prote\u00edna citoplasm\u00e1tica de 18.095 da que secuestra microcina b17 (mccb17). Este secuestro se refleja en las dos propiedades siguientes:  resistencia de c\u00e9lulas sensibles a microcina ex\u00f3gena y retenci\u00f3n de microcina end\u00f3gena en c\u00e9lulas productoras, es decir, bloqueo de la exportaci\u00f3n de antibi\u00f3tico.  adem\u00e1s la doctoranda, ha demostrado que la expresi\u00f3n de sbmc responde a dos est\u00edmulos, da\u00f1o al dna y entrada de las c\u00e9lulas en fase estacionaria. Es \u00e9ste, un elegante ejemplo de adaptaci\u00f3n fisiol\u00f3gica bacteriana. La bacteria produce simult\u00e1neamente una prote\u00edna (sbmc) que la protege de la toxina (mccb17) que ella misma produce. Y produce la prote\u00edna en cuanto siente (detecta) la presencia de toxina.  tres reguladores globales de e.
