Cuando se aplic\u00f3 de manera repetida la terapia electroconvulsiva (tec) se increment\u00f3 de forma m\u00e1s acusada el contenido de mrna de crh que cuando se aplic\u00f3 de forma aguda. Las alteraciones en la expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica de proencefalina (pe) depende de la localizaci\u00f3n y del tipo de estr\u00e9s aplicado, elev\u00e1ndose su contenido en el n\u00facleo ventromedial del hipot\u00e1lamo (nvm). La elevaci\u00f3n de los niveles de mrna de pe inducido por la administraci\u00f3n i.P. De una soluci\u00f3n salina hipert\u00f3nica fu\u00e9 bloqueada por el antagonista de los receptores de glucocorticoides, ru-486.  la serotonina (5ht) regula de forma diferencial la activaci\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica de pomc (proopiomelanocortina) inducida por restricci\u00f3n de movimientos en la hip\u00f3fisis.
