estudio detallado de la t\u00e9cnica del retrato y su significaci\u00f3n en la \u00e9poca rom\u00e1ntica; y una completa descripci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes colectivas e individuales de los escritores de la primera mitad del siglo xix.  en \u00e9l se aportan todo tipo de documentos de la \u00e9poca y se hace menci\u00f3n de centros oficiales, instituciones culturales y art\u00edsticas donde se conserva la iconograf\u00eda de los rom\u00e1nticos.  un corpus iconogr\u00e1fico con la n\u00f3mina de estos escritores, adem\u00e1s de una relaci\u00f3n de los artistas m\u00e1s destacados que se dedicaron al retrato completan este cat\u00e1logo iconogr\u00e1fico.  al final del mismo incluyo un ap\u00e9ndice de l\u00e1minas con las ilustraciones m\u00e1s representativas del siglo xix y de los
