Estas adhesiones celulares v\u00eda integrina-ligando son de vital importancia en innumerables fen\u00f3menos biol\u00f3gicos, como por ejemplo: el desarrollo embrionario, la coagulaci\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea, las reacciones inflamatorias y las respuestas inmunes.  las integrinas pueden encontrarse en diferentes estados de activaci\u00f3n, pudiendo ser modificados tanto por est\u00edmulos extracelulares como intracelulares.
