Dicha prote\u00edna es uno de los componentes activos del veneno de la an\u00e9mona stichodactyla helianthus y se ha mostrado como uno de los agentes hemol\u00edticos m\u00e1s potentes aislados de un ser vivo.  en una primera etapa se realizaron ensayos con la finalidad de determinar si exist\u00eda interacci\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna con ves\u00edculas preparadas a partir de l\u00edpidos naturales. Una vez demostrada la existencia de dicha interacci\u00f3n se procedi\u00f3 a realizar un estudio m\u00e1s detallado que permitiera deducir m\u00e1s datos a cerca de la interacci\u00f3n. As\u00ed, en una segunda etapa se llev\u00f3 a cabo la preparaci\u00f3n de cristales bidimensionales de sticolisina ii sobre monocapas de lip\u00eddicas de diferentes composiciones. Las micrograf\u00edas obtenidas de dichos cristales fueron examinadas empleando tratamientos de im\u00e1genes basados en m\u00e9todos de fourier y se demostr\u00f3 que era posible la determinaci\u00f3n de la estructura tridimensional de la sticolisina ii, as\u00ed como de la ultraestructura que forma al interaccionar con l\u00edpidos.  el an\u00e1lisis detallado de los cristales obtenidos mostr\u00f3 que pertenec\u00edan la grupo cristalogr\u00e1fico p22,2 (98x196x51 a). La reconstrucci\u00f3n tridimensional final presenta una prote\u00edna con 3 l\u00f3bulos, con una longitud m\u00e1xima de 51 a y una anchura m\u00e1xima de 39 a. La ultraestructura formada por la sticolisina ii al interaccionar con las monocapas es un poro tetram\u00e9rico responsable del mecanismo de acci\u00f3n de la toxina. Adem\u00e1s, en el proceso de s\u00edntesis de cristales se encontr\u00f3 una relaci\u00f3n inversa entre la afinidad de la prote\u00edna por el l\u00edpido que compone la monocapa y la calidad del
