Debido a su total automatismo, sensibilidad, exactitud y precisi\u00f3n, superior a la de los m\u00e9todos existentes, el sistema resulta especialmente \u00fatil en los laboratorios bioqu\u00edmicos y cl\u00ednicos en los que se requiere el an\u00e1lisis de un n\u00famero elevado de micromuestras en plasma.  el sistema para la determinaci\u00f3n autom\u00e1tica de catecolaminas en plasma, comprende la extracci\u00f3n en linea de las catecolaminas en una columna de intercambio cati\u00f3nico d\u00e9bil, separaci\u00f3n anal\u00edtica en columna de hplc en fase inversa, derivatizaci\u00f3n fluorog\u00e9nica con etilenodiamina y detecci\u00f3n sensible de los fluor\u00f3foros mediante la reacci\u00f3n de quimioluminiscencia de los peroxioxalatos. El m\u00e9todo tambi\u00e9n es aplicable a la determinaci\u00f3n de f\u00e1rmacos que presenten en su estructura qu\u00edmica un grupo funcional catecol y un grupo funcional am\u00ednico
