Alejandr\u00eda muestra su sincretismo en una multiplicidad inigualable; es un mundo unitario en el que se unen los opuestos. Es una ciudad m\u00edtica en la que no existe una realidad objetiva. Las facetas de la ciudad demuestran como no existe una verdad \u00fanica, sino m\u00faltiples verdades.  la imagen de la ciudad que durrell nos presenta es la met\u00e1fora que nos lleva a trascender nuestro propio yo para enlazar con la conciencia universal.
