Se persigue con ello no s\u00f3lo su revalorizaci\u00f3n como material art\u00edstico sino tambi\u00e9n una puesta a punto en cuanto a metodolog\u00eda de estudio.  el an\u00e1lisis se desglosa en tres bloques diferenciados: 1) definici\u00f3n y caracterizaci\u00f3n del cartel. 2) evoluci\u00f3n del g\u00e9nero en el caso concreto de espa\u00f1a. 3) an\u00e1lisis detallado del cartel de teatro en espa\u00f1a.  este \u00faltimo an\u00e1lisis se aborda desde un enfoque de tipo diacr\u00f3nico, lo que nos ha llevado a distinguir cuatro subperiodos (restauraci\u00f3n, alfonso xiii, rep\u00fablica y guerra civil) en el periodo de estudio (1875-1939). En cada uno de ellos se analizan de forma detallada los carteles teatrales en funci\u00f3n de la propuesta que considera la existencia de dos l\u00edneas paralelas -popular y elitista- en el conjunto
