Se inocula cepa de staphylococcus aureus atcc 25923, que es meticilin sensible. A los 10-12 d\u00edas se extrae el segmento de aorta y pr\u00f3tesis, cultiv\u00e1ndose para comprovar si se ha infectado.  se comparan los 6 grupos sometidos a estudio, objetiv\u00e1ndose, que la profilaxis con vancomicina y cefoxitina, disminuye la infecci\u00f3n con respecto al grupo control. La tasa de ataque fue m\u00e1s baja para la vancomicina, respecto a la cefoxitina y m\u00e1s baja para las pr\u00f3tesis de ptfe respecto de las de dacron.  respecto al riesgo relativo, la mayor diferencia de riesgos corresponde a los grupos de ptfe y vancomicina respecto a los grupos con dacron y cefoxitina; en relaci\u00f3n a dacron y vacomicina.  la mayor reducci\u00f3n de riesgo atribuible se obtuvo en el grupo de ptfe con vancomicina y la menor reducci\u00f3n en el grupo de dacron con cefoxitina.  se ha obtenido mejores resultados, con las pr\u00f3tesis de ptfe que con las de dacron y mejores con la vancomicina que con la cefoxitina, aunque en ambos casos no son estadisticamente significativos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
