El peptido purificado, denominado factor de crecimiento renal (fcr), estimulo la sintesis del adn en tubulos proximales de rata y en cultivos de celulas de tubulo proximal (llc-pk1) y mesangiales de rata. El efecto del fcr se abolio con el tratamiento con proteasa k, bapta-am o con indometacina. Utilizando el mismo sistema de purificacion se ha aislado el mismo factor de plasma de ratas sometidas a operacion simulada (\u00absham\u00bb) o controles no operadas. Sin embargo, la actividad del fcr en el plasma de estas ultimas ratas no fue detectable hasta el ultimo paso de purificacion. Estos resultados sugieren que un cambio en la concentracion de un inhibidor circulante de la actividad del fcr parece ser el responsable de las diferencias observadas entre la actividad del plasma de ratas \u00absham\u00bb o controles y del plasma de ratas unx.
