Su descubrimiento ha originado la busqueda de moleculas capaces de antagonizar sus acciones. En este sentido, los laboratorios alter s. A.  (Madrid) han sintetizado un nuevo compuesto con actividad antagonista de paf, el pca 4248. Los objetivos de este trabajo fueron determinar el tipo de inhibicion ejercida por este compuesto, estudiar su especificidad de accion, la comparacion con otros antagonistas y, fundamentalmente, el efecto ejercido sobre los mecanismos bioquimicos activados por el paf en plaquetas.
