Moubata, que se realizaba hasta la fecha con un extracto bruto de prote\u00ednas salivales de esos dos arg\u00e1sidos, se han purificado por diversos m\u00e9todos, y esencialmente por hplc,cuatro ant\u00edgenos salivales de cada una de esas especies. Todos los ant\u00edgenos confieren a la serolog\u00eda gran sensibilidad y especificidad, permitiendo la detecci\u00f3n inequ\u00edvoca de los cerdos picados. Tales ant\u00edgenos se encuentran ya presintetizados antes de la alimentaci\u00f3n sanguinea de los par\u00e1sitos, localiz\u00e1ndose en la matriz extracelular de los tejidos de las gl\u00e1ndulas salivales, en vez de en los gr\u00e1nulos de secreci\u00f3n como se pensaba hasta ahora. Para liberarse de la matriz y pasar a la saliva necesitan la acci\u00f3n de serina proteasas dependientes del calcio. De los ant\u00edgenos purificados se ha conseguido secuenciar uno de o.
