En el primero se realiza una introducci\u00f3n con una amplia revisi\u00f3n bibliogr\u00e1fica sobre las caracter\u00edsticas de las hidroxiantraquinonas, como reactivo fluorog\u00e9nico, y en especial del comportamiento anal\u00edtico de la purpurina y reactividad frente a los distintos iones met\u00e1licos en diferentes medios. A continuaci\u00f3n, en el cap\u00edtulo segundo se realiza un estudio espectrofluorim\u00e9trico de la 1,2,4-trihidroxiantraquinona: estabilidad, influencia de la temperatura y de la concentraci\u00f3n de reactivo; tambi\u00e9n se determina la constante de acidez y la reaccionabilidad frente a distintos iones met\u00e1licos.  el cap\u00edtulo tercero se dedica al estudio espectrofluorim\u00e9trico de las especies complejas formadas por la 1,2,4-trihidroxiantraquinonas con al(iii), in(iii), mg(ii), zn(ii) y ge(iv); espectros de excitaci\u00f3n y emisi\u00f3n, influencia de la acidez, reguladora, medio temperatura, orden de adici\u00f3n de reactivos, y estequiometr\u00eda de los complejos formados.  finalmente, en el cap\u00edtulo cuarto se aplican los estudios realizados a la determinaci\u00f3n de al(iii) y mg(ii) en sueros sangu\u00edneo, el mg(ii) se determina tambi\u00e9n en aguas potables: el zn(ii) en preparados farmac\u00e9uticos; in(iii) y ge(iv) se analizan en muestras sint\u00e9ticas de composici\u00f3n similar a las de uso industrial.
